ATELIERS DE PARIS
The Ateliers de Paris incubator offers accommodation and a support program for project leaders in the fashion, design and arts and crafts sectors.
Karl Mazlo applied for the Ateliers de Paris in 2017 because his professional approach was at a crossroads. He was coming back from Japan and needed a workshop so that this research did not run out of steam and to continue what he had started during his residency at Villa Kujoyama.
"Joining the Ateliers de Paris was the possibility of finding a synergy with other craftsmen and designers, being able to collaborate with them, discussing different business issues. Being selected was an encouragement. The workshop and the support provided me with more than I expected. Meetings with the experts helped me structure my business and communicate better".
The Ateliers de Paris team pushed Karl to apply for competitions and participate in exhibitions such as the Takumi know-how program or the Revelation fair where he was able to show part of his work without taking any financial risk.
“These two years have given me a real network of professionals and friends. Today, I have a workshop at the Villa du Lavoir and I want to make of it a real place for exchanges and sharing around the expertise related to the work of jewelry and metal’’.
