ARTIST IN ISLAND
The Prefecture of Nagasaki, in partnership with the French Institute of Japan, has set up a program of residencies for French artists to combine the promotion of its exceptional island heritage and time for inspiration and exchanges with the organization of workshops for local school audiences.
Karl Mazlo stayed on the island of Goto in order to promote local materials and know-how among artisans.
(Woodworking, mother-of-pearl and coral metal)
An exhibition was organized to present the result of these exchanges in the form of objects and jewels at the memorial of the goto islands.
Karl Mazlo donated his work.
Special thanks to Beatrice Horn and Yoshitsugu Yamaura.
